Welcome to XC ART CEnter

XC Art Center—formerly known as Xiaowei Chen Art Studio was founded in 2008 and is located in Boston, MA, USA. With selective enrollment, the art center attracts students from across the U.S., Canada, China, Singapore, and other regions.

Our approach values art appreciation, life observation, self expression, and the fundamentals of art. Whether it be through guest lectures by well established artists, opportunities to exhibit their work, excursions to studios, galleries, or museums, our art center strives to push our students to gain a deeper understanding of art’s significance in life and spirit.

What did you learn
at XC art center?

What is ImportanT to us?

In XC Art Center, education for basic art skills is not our end goal!

Here, we focus on the skills that our future generations need! This includes expanding one’s contemporary art appreciation, teaching how to observe life from many angles, and orchestrating the integrity of our students' artistic works.

Learning art is not just about applying to art schools. It can be divided into 5 stages:

  1. Developing interests and hobbies

  2. Accurately expressing one’s thoughts and feelings

  3. Integrating knowledge from other subjects into artistic techniques

  4. Improving application scores for non-art colleges

  5. Helping one pursue their artistic dreams through specialized art colleges

What makes us different?

XC ART CENTER is guided by the core educational philosophy of nurturing originality and personal uniqueness in student works, as well as fostering leadership and collective cooperation. The Art Center will be a place for students to broaden their horizons through communication.

Contemporary artists will serve as guest lecturers, allowing students to explore various art forms. The Art Center gallery will regularly showcase outstanding student artworks, with curators from art museums personally guiding and leading students in planning and setting up their own exhibitions. During the process, students will be interviewed via video by the Art Center to share their insights. The classroom will extend to artists' studios, galleries, and art museums, enabling students to experience the importance of art hands-on in both life and spirit.
